Comment: Industry awards don't help notability here, and the text in the awards looks to have been taken from the subject himself. What we need are ideally three examples of the WP:GOLDENRULE, demonstrating all three qualities in each article. Most of the other sources make at best brief mention of the subject.Not a reason for the decline, but we need a Lead section to summarise the subject in a few sentences, which should include a reason as to why they are notable. Early life and education
[edit]Born in Querétaro, Mexico.[1][2] to two working-class parents, Ernesto Fonseca drew on his upbringing to propel him into higher education and eventually CEO.[3] Fonseca obtained a degree in architecture in Mexico, with a specialization in materials.[4] He moved to Wisconsin in 1998[5], where he mentions having worked at restaurants[1], factories, and as group home manager.[6]
In 2006, Fonseca earned his master's degree from Arizona State University in Energy and Climate and Building Sciences.[6] He later returned to school and obtained his Ph.D. in Environmental Design and Planning.[4]
Personal life

Career
[edit]In 2017, Fonseca moved to Portland, Oregon[8] where he joined Hacienda CDC, the largest Latino housing development non-profit in Oregon[9], as chief executive officer. [10]
Projects
[edit]Fonseca was one of the architects that developed Stardust Center for Affordable Homes and the Family[3], a center focused on creating culturally relevant affordable homes in Arizona.[11]
Politics
[edit]Fonseca ran for Tempe City Council in 2014 with a focus on grassroots initiatives[12], but was not elected.[1][13]
In August 2023, Fonseca was appointed part of the Housing Production Advisory Council by Tina Kotek.[14]In 2025, he also joined the Multifamily Housing Development Workgroup alongside Kotek and Keith Wilson.[15]
In 2023, Fonseca attended and spoke at the signing of House bill 2001 and House Bill 5019[16]in Salem, OR.[17]
Awards
[edit]In 2009, he was named one of The Phoenix Business Journal's "Forty Under 40", in recognition of his significant contributions and achievements throughout his career[18]
The Portland Business Journal awarded Fonseca the Community Champion Landmark Award in 2023 for his leadership at Hacienda CDC.[19][9]
In 2025, he was titled Honored Citizen by the Architecture Foundation of Oregon[20] citing his work in empowering communities and creating meaningful partnerships.[3]
