Eolas Ediciones is a Spanish publishing imprint belonging to Librería Universitaria 1980 S.L.L., a company based in León, Castile and León[1]. It was founded in 2008 by León-based publisher Héctor Escobar and has been a member of the Gremio de Editores de Castilla y León (GECYL) since 2013.[2]
Its catalogue includes publications in a variety of fields, including fiction, poetry, essays, history, law, art, photography, children's and young adult literature, and topics related to León.
Activity
[edit]In addition to its publishing activities, Eolas Ediciones participates in cultural projects related to literature, the arts, and heritage. In 2023, together with the publishing house Mr. Griffin, it created the project “Factor. Espacio San Feliz,” located in San Feliz de Torío, in a former railway warehouse. The activities held at the space include presentations of works published by Eolas Ediciones and meetings with authors.[3]
Publications and Awards
[edit]In 2018, Eolas Ediciones published Años de mayor cuantía by Tomás Sánchez Santiago, which received the Tigre Juan Award. The work was subsequently awarded the Premio de Crítica de Castilla y León in 2019.[4]
In 2025, Eolas Ediciones published Arden los estanques by Alicia Andrés Ramos, the winning work of the XII Premio de Novela Corta of the Fundación MonteLeón. The award received 582 submissions from more than 40 countries and included the publication of the winning work by Eolas Ediciones.[5]
