  • Comment: Do not resubmit without addressing the issues. Also, each Wikipedia language is its own project with its own policies and guidelines so what is acceptable at one may not be acceptable at another. The English Wikipedia tends to more strict. S0091 (talk) 18:32, 29 September 2026 (UTC)
  • Comment: In preparing this draft, I disclose that AI assistance was used as follows: I used ChatGPT primarily for technical assistance with Wikipedia formatting, citation syntax, article structure, and copy-editing. I provided the biographical and career information, sources and links, and conducted the source research myself. I reviewed and revised the wording throughout and checked the draft against the cited sources. The English draft was also based in part on the Hebrew Wikipedia article about Eldad Guetta, which I wrote and which was subsequently reviewed and approved for publication on Hebrew Wikipedia. פולימון (talk) 18:23, 29 September 2026 (UTC)
  • Comment: Most of the sources are credits or brief mentions. Those are fine to use for verifiability but not notability. Also, this has signs of AI use. S0091 (talk) 19:32, 28 September 2026 (UTC)

Career

[edit]

Music production and arranging

[edit]

Guetta began his career as a musician, arranger and producer in Israel. He was a member of the rock band Monica Sex and worked with artists including Shalom Hanoch, Arik Einstein, Shlomi Shaban, Rockfour, Yirmi Kaplan, Keren Peles and Rona Kenan.[1]

After moving to London, Guetta worked on Robbie Robertson's 2011 album How to Become Clairvoyant. He played horns on "Won't Be Back", which featured Eric Clapton, and co-arranged the orchestral parts for "Tango for Django".[1]

Guetta was co-music producer on Damien Chazelle's La La Land, working with composer Justin Hurwitz. Following Hurwitz's Academy Award for Best Original Score, Mako profiled Guetta and his career.[2][3] An April 2017 Sound on Sound feature on the film included a section devoted to Guetta's work on the production, including the creation of MIDI mock-ups for the film's jazz material and for "Start a Fire", as well as his use of sampling and synthesis.[4]

Guetta was also the music co-producer on Max Minghella's Teen Spirit and produced songs for films including Smallfoot and The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part.[5]

Alongside his work as a multi-instrumentalist and arranger, Guetta has worked extensively with synthesis, programming and electronic production, and has been described by Marius de Vries as a "true synth-programming expert".[6]

In 2019, Guetta and de Vries produced Chrissie Hynde's second solo album, Valve Bone Woe. In addition to producing and arranging the album, Guetta played keyboards, guitars, trumpet, bass and percussion.[7] A review in Classic Pop described de Vries and Guetta as having shaped the album's stylistically varied approach, which moved between orchestral jazz, electronic textures and dub.[8]

Film and television composition

[edit]

Guetta has composed music for film and television. His television work includes the series Significant Other and Seven Figures (Six Zeros), for which he received Israeli Television Academy Award nominations for original music;[9][10] Berlin Blues, A Happy Place, Always Jane, In the Know;[5] and Nir Bergman's Just for Today, which won the Jury Award in the Official Competition at the 2019 Series Mania festival.[11][12]

For the 2019 film The Wave, Guetta composed music that producer Gregor Loudermilk described as giving the film its musical pulse and contributing to its dark, electronic sound.[13]

His later work included additional music for the 2019 film Joker, whose score, composed by Hildur Guðnadóttir, won the Academy Award for Best Original Score,[14][15] and the Apple TV+ limited series Black Bird;[16] he also composed the score for the 2022 film Press Play.[17]

For Max Minghella's Shell, Guetta composed a score built around a series of recurring themes. Minghella told Collider that Guetta created the "ear-worm"-like melodies he had been looking for for the film.[18] Reviewing the film, InSession Film described Guetta's score as "impressive" and "poppy".[19] The film premiered at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival.[20]

Personal life

[edit]

Guetta is married to author, screenwriter and television creator Bar Ben-Yossef. They have two children and live in Los Angeles.[2]
