Eiravato is an Irish software company that develops waste data management technology for the circular economy. Its platform digitises industrial waste reporting and operates a marketplace connecting waste producers with potential buyers of secondary materials.[1][2]
History
[edit]The company was founded in 2015 by Marcin Kulik and Steve Cassidy, and was initially known as SmartTrace.[2] Kulik had previously founded a software development agency in 2006, while Cassidy's background was in materials management and plastics recycling.[2][3]
In October 2018, Eiravato raised €550,000 in funding, comprising €300,000 from private investors and €250,000 from Enterprise Ireland through its high potential start-up programme.[1]
In late 2018, Eiravato was one of ten ICT start-ups selected from 226 applicants across 38 countries for the seventh edition of Fit 4 Start, Luxembourg's national start-up acceleration programme managed by Luxinnovation and financed by the country's Ministry of the Economy, with each participant receiving a €50,000 grant and a 16-week coaching programme.[4][5] The company successfully graduated from the programme in 2019.[6]
Products
[edit]Eiravato's technology has comprised two linked platforms: a data analysis tool that uses big data and artificial intelligence to identify commercial opportunities in industrial waste streams, and an exchange on which businesses can source and trade waste materials and components.[2] The system is aimed primarily at large manufacturing and multi-site organisations in sectors including manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, medical devices and retail.[1][7]
Recognition
[edit]Eiravato holds the Solar Impulse Efficient Solution Label, awarded by the Solar Impulse Foundation following assessment by independent experts.[8] The company was a finalist in the Green Awards, an Irish sustainability awards programme.[9]
