David 'Dave' Hatch (born in Scarborough, Ontario) is a Canadian television producer and on-screen personality.[1][2]

Hatch is producer and host of TSN's Motorcycle Experience, the longest running motorcycle magazine show in North America.[3] He is writer and co-producer of the CBC documentary Atomic Reaction (2024), which explores Canada's involvement in the Manhattan Project. [4][5]

Career

[edit]

Hatch began his television career in the early 1980s as co-host of Kidsbeat, a weekly news magazine for teens that aired on Global Television Network.[6] In 1989, Hatch founded television production company Whistlestop Productions Inc., which has since produced 23 original network television series for networks and platforms including TSN, Netflix, Discovery, and the Smithsonian Channel.[7] That same year, Hatch created Canada's first motorcycle magazine show, Motorcycle Experience covering motorcycle culture, riding tips, and touring adventures across North America. [8][9] Later, he co-launched Canadian Motor Sports Productions, providing television coverage for the Canadian National Superbike series.[10][11]

Hatch wrote and co-produced Atomic Reaction, a documentary directed by Michèle Hozer that examines Canada's role in the Manhattan Project and the development of the atomic bomb.[12][5][13]
