David Akande (born 1991) is a Nigerian actor and film producer.
Akande won Revelation of the Year at the 2018 Best of Nollywood Awards.[1]
He produced Alaise (2022). The film won Best Indigenous Language Movie (Yoruba) at the Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Awards.[2] It was nominated for three awards at the 18th Africa Movie Academy Awards, including Best Achievement in Visual Effects.[3]
Akande was a producer and executive producer on Eti Keta (2024). The film received five nominations at the 2024 Best of Nollywood Awards.[4]
In 2025, he produced Erimorara[5] and Durotimi, which was nominated for Best Soundtrack at the Best of Nollywood Awards.[6] The film won the Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Award for Best Indigenous Language Movie (Yoruba).[2] Alaise was nominated for Ousmane Sembene Award for Best Film in an African Language, Best Nigerian Film,[3] and Best Achievement in Visual Effects[7] at the Africa Movie Academy Awards. At the 2022 BON Awards, Alaise was nominated for Movie of the Year,[8] Best Use of Nigerian Food,[9] and Director of the Year,[10] while Akande received a nomination for Revelation of the Year (Male) for Alaise.[11]
In 2023, Akande produced and starred in Asa.[12] The film won the Best of Nollywood Award for Best Social Message Film.[13]
In 2024, he served as producer and executive producer of the Mnet original movie Eti Keta. The film received nominations for Best Indigenous Film, Best Use of Food, Best Soundtrack, and Best Social Message at the Best of Nollywood Awards,[4] and won Best Kiss alongside Halimah Ganiyu.[14]
In 2025, he produced and starred in Erimorara.[15] His film Durotimi was nominated for Best Soundtrack at the BON Awards.[6] The same year, he served as producer and executive producer of the Mnet Original Series Kukoyi,[16] which was nominated for Best Indigenous M-Net Original at the 2026 AMVCAs.[17]
