From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Daniel Zangger Borch, born in Glostrup, Denmark, is a Swedish-Danish artist, voice researcher, vocal coach, author, and tech entrepreneur. He is the first person in Sweden to hold a Ph.D. in popular music singing and has garnered international recognition for his voice research.[1] He is widely known as a vocal coach for established artists and major TV productions such as Idol and Melodifestivalen, as well as for his background as the lead singer of the rock bands Alien and Crosstalk.

Biography

[edit]

Zangger Borch was born in Glostrup, just outside Copenhagen, where he spent the first twelve years of his life before moving to Sweden with his father.

Music Career

[edit]

Borch began his musical journey in his early teens, becoming the lead singer of the band Shere Khan in 1985. The band later changed its name to On the Rox and qualified for the national finals of the Swedish Rock Championships (Rock-SM) in 1987, where Zangger Borch was awarded the prize for Best Singer. Following a stint with the act Dannie 'n' Rox (which released the single "Cut You Like a Razor"), he became the lead singer and songwriter for the Swedish rock band Alien in 1991. With Alien, he released two albums and several singles until 1995. In 1998, Zangger Borch became the lead singer of the pop/rock project Crosstalk, created by Mattias Reimer and Lars Edvall. The band competed in Melodifestivalen twice: in 1999 with the song "Det gäller dej och mej" and in 2003 with the song "Stronger." In 2007, he made his debut as a solo artist with the album The One.
