Cut the Rope: Magic is a puzzle video game developed and published by ZeptoLab. The fifth main installment of the Cut the Rope franchise, the game's plot involves Om Nom travelling inside a magical book after a spider wizard inside the book steals his candy supply.
Gameplay
[edit]Like other titles in the franchise, the game's goal is to cut ropes in order to feed candy to Om Nom. A new feature in this game allows Om Nom to transform into different creatures, each with their own unique abilities, in order to solve certain puzzles.[1] In some levels, the player must face off against the spider wizard, who will forcefully attempt to bring the candy to his direction; the player will lose the level if the wizard eats the candy.[2]
Development
[edit]In October 2015, five years after the release of the first Cut the Rope game, ZeptoLab announced a brand new game for the franchise entitled Cut the Rope: Magic, which was slated for a December release, although few details of the game were given at the time.[3][4]
Reception
[edit]According to the review aggregation website Metacritic, the game has received "generally positive reviews" from critics. Nadia Oxford of Gamezebo in particular praised the game for its graphics and blending of old and new mechanics.[5]
