Cinnamon Island (Antigua and Barbuda) Cinnamon Island is a small offshore islet located off the north-central coast of Antigua, the main island of the Caribbean nation of Antigua and Barbuda. Situated in the North Sound region near Saint George Parish, the island is part of the extensive archipelagic chain of cays, rocks, and barrier islets surrounding Antigua.

Geography and Location Cinnamon Island is situated at approximately 17 ∘

W longitude. It sits in shallow coastal waters near the settlements of Blackmans Point (0.6 km away), Fitches Creek (0.9 km away), and Osbourn (1.5 km away).

The island forms part of the sheltered bay ecosystem on the eastern side of the island's northern peninsula, which protects inner waters from open Atlantic ocean swells.

Ecology and Environment Like many of the minor islets within Antigua's North Sound, Cinnamon Island features a tropical coastal microclimate with surrounding mangrove patches, seagrass beds, and coral reef ecosystems. The marine waters surrounding the islet serve as feeding grounds and nurseries for various Caribbean reef fish, crustaceans, and marine invertebrates.

Climate The island experiences a tropical savanna climate typical of the Leeward Islands, with warm temperatures year-round, steady trade winds, and a wet season running generally from August through November.
