Chaaz Quigley is an American writer, community organizer, and LGBTQ activist based in the Dallas–Fort Worth area of Texas.
Activism
[edit]Youth First Texas
[edit]Quigley served as Youth Board President of Youth First Texas, a Dallas-based organization supporting LGBTQ youth. Their participation in the program was discussed in a 2007 interview on John Selig Outspoken.[1]
United Black Ellument
[edit]Quigley was involved in United Black Ellument, a Dallas-based initiative focused on HIV prevention and community health among Black same-gender-loving men. Dallas Voice described Quigley as one of three full-time coordinators working on the project in Dallas.[2]
Occupy Dallas
[edit]During the Occupy Wall Street protests in 2011, Quigley participated in organizing efforts with Occupy Dallas. Dallas Voice reported that Quigley, a member of the International Socialist Organization at the time, led marches during early demonstrations.[3] The Dallas Morning News also reported on the demonstrations.[4]
QueerBomb Dallas
[edit]Quigley was among the founding organizers of QueerBomb Dallas, a grassroots Pride demonstration established in 2014.
