Centric Consulting is a privately held management consulting firm specializing in technology and business solutions. Its headquarters are in Dayton, Ohio, with 13 other offices in the United States, located in Boston, Charlotte, Chicago, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, Detroit, Indianapolis, Louisville, Miami, Pittsburgh, Seattle.[1], and St. Louis. The company employs roughly 1,300 people.
History
[edit]Centric Consulting was founded in 1999[2] as a remote-first management consulting firm. Early client engagements included work with Dayton Power & Light (now part of AES Ohio).[3] As the company expanded its capabilities, it opened additional U.S. locations and, in 2016, established an office in India to support global delivery operations.[4]
In 2020, co-founder Larry English published a book on remote-work culture, Office Optional: How to Build a Connected Culture with Virtual Teams[5][6], which he spoke about on the Social Responsibility at Work podcast with Angela Howard, in an episode called "Office Optional."[7] Centric Consulting was listed on the Inc. 5000 list multiple times starting in 2007.[8][9]
Business
[edit]Centric Consulting is a Microsoft Certified Partner[10] and also works across a range of enterprise technology platforms, including Salesforce, Oracle, NetSuite, and Guidewire.[11] In 2023, Centric completed its first acquisition when it purchased The Mako Group, a cybersecurity and risk management firm[12][13][14]. In 2025, Centric Consulting's change management service was included in Gartner's Market Guide for Organizational Change Management.[15]
By the mid-2020s, the firm expanded its services across artificial intelligence,[16] data and analytics, cloud solutions, and cybersecurity. Joseph Ours, Centric Consulting’s AI Solutions Director, was cited in Harvard Business Review’s briefing paper, “Evaluating Frameworks to Define an AI Corporate Strategy,” about how to remain competitive during the “AI gold rush”[17] and in CIO Magazine discussing Centric's work with Agentic AI custom framework[18]. Centric Consulting also has focused on AI's impact on cybersecurity and risk[19][20]
Awards
[edit]Centric received recognition from Forbes as one of America's Best Management Consulting Firms[21] annually since 2016. Fast Company named Centric Consulting one of the Top 100 Best Workplaces for Innovators in 2020.[22] Centric was listed by Consulting Magazine as one of 2025's Best Midsized Firms to Work For[23] and as a Best Firm to Work For in 2024.[24] It was listed by Newsweek as one of America's Greatest Midsize Workplaces for Culture, Belonging & Community and as one of America's Greatest Midsize Companies for Women, both in 2026.[25][26]
