The Cambridge Community Center located at 5 Callendar Street, Cambridge, Massachusetts was established in 1929 by Reverend E. K. Nichols and colleagues to provide recreational, educational, and social activities for the Cambridge community. [1][2] Founded in response to the inequity of the era, specifically the exclusion of Black residents from the local YMCA, the center was created to serve as an inclusive space for all.[3] The Cambridge Community Center held activities such as Photography, Pottery, Knitting and Crochet, Karate, Black History, Arts & Crafts, Special Field Trips, Charm, Sewing, and Ceramics.[4]
