CDN77 is a Czech content delivery network (CDN) and internet infrastructure provider based in Prague. Founded by Zdeněk Cendra, it delivers video and other online content through a global network and provides storage and computing services.[1]

The service operates under the UK-registered company DataCamp Limited, which owns the Czech company DataCamp s.r.o.[2][3]

History

[edit]

Cendra established DataCamp in 2011. CDN77 launched the following year.[3][4] By 2013, CDN77 had switched from rented cloud capacity to physical servers across its network.[5] It added support for HTTP/2 in 2015.[6]

Czech Television selected CDN77 and Cendra’s SuperNetwork in 2017 to provide technical services for iVysílání. The contract covered 2018–2020.[7]

In 2018, CDN77 launched a service for live video streaming.[8]

Services and customers

[edit]

CDN77 delivers online content for video, software and media services. It also provides storage and computing infrastructure.[1][9]

In 2025, CDN77 was one of several CDN suppliers used by TikTok.[10] Reuters identified Rakuten TV, Banijay, Udemy and Starz among the company's other customers.[1]

In September 2026, the company reported that its network covered more than 230 locations worldwide.[9]

Growth and investment

[edit]

CDN77's revenue increased from $16 million in 2018 to $174 million in 2024 and $218 million in 2025.[11]

In September 2026, CVC agreed to buy a minority stake in CDN77. Cendra would remain majority owner and chief executive. Reuters reported a valuation of about $1.9 billion, citing a source familiar with the deal.[1] When announced, the deal still required regulatory approval.[9]

[edit]

DISH Network sued DataCamp in 2022 over television streams distributed by its customers without authorization. DISH alleged that DataCamp had failed to terminate the accounts of repeat infringers, which DataCamp denied.[2]

In February 2024, DataCamp paid DISH $3 million to settle the lawsuit. The settlement required DataCamp to act on infringement notices and shut down customer accounts in cases of repeated infringement.[2]
