ByteTravel is a Spanish travel technology company headquartered in Sant Cugat del Vallès.[1][2][3] The company provides travel-related services for tourists and business travelers worldwide.[4][5][6] Its main services include visa applications, mobile connectivity via eSIM, airport VIP lounge access, and travel insurance.[7][8] ByteTravel was publicly listed on the BME Growth market of Bolsas y Mercados Españoles in July 2026.[2][6][9][10]

History

ByteTravel was originally created in January 2021 by Virginia Carmona and Javier Martín and under the name Esta Travel Services.[1][4] Later rebrand ByteTravel, the Spanish company saw investor Axel Serena acquired a majority stake in the business and became its CEO.[4][7][11] Between 2024 and 2025, ByteTravel bought a stake in the travel network Drimer.[12] It also added the insurance group Intermundial as a shareholder.[13][14]

After debuting on the BME Scaleup market in July 2024 at a €37.8 million valuation,[15][16][17] ByteTravel’s market value surged to €157.4 million by late 2025.[10] It moved up to the BME Growth market on July 3, 2026, as the second Spanish firm to transition between these segments.[2][6][9][10] Days earlier, Eiffel Investment Group invested €4.1 million for a 4.05% stake.[10][18][19] Following this restructuring, the main shareholders became BeGreat (68.70%), Oteban (5%), and Eiffel Investment Group, along with other board members.[10][20]

Also in 2026, ByteTravel ranked first in Spain and sixth in Europe in the Financial Times' FT1000 list of Europe's fastest-growing travel companies.[1] That same year, the company was admitted as an affiliate member of the UN Tourism agency.[7][8]

Operations

ByteTravel has offices in Sant Cugat del Vallès where it has it operational headquarters, and in Madrid and Miami.[8][21] The company's customer base is mostly international, with its main markets being the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Switzerland, Germany, and Japan.[21][22] Its workforce grew from a single employee in 2021 to 83 by early 2026.[8][23]

ByteTravel provides digital travel services, serving both individual travelers (70% of demand) and corporate clients through partnerships with agencies, tour operators, and airlines.[12][24] In 2022, the company launched its first service, Visagov,[4] a e software as a service platform for electronic visa management covering over 70 countries by the end of 2025.[7][17][25] Other services launched later include Roamic (an international eSIM service that work in 190 countries),[5][21][26] VIP Lounges (with access to VIP airport lounges for travelers),[20][27] and Globely (travel insurance that covers trip cancellation and international medical assistance).[13][14]

In 2023, ByteTravel’s revenue reached €8.5 million with a €2.4 million net profit.[4] The next year, revenue rose to €11.19 million, net profit hit €2.54 million, and the company remained debt-free.[22][23] By late 2025, revenue increased 73% year-on-year to €19.4 million supporting 3.2 million users and 680,000 processed visas,[4][26] but the operating profit stood at €720,000 due to marketing, software, and international expansion expenses.[9][10][18]
