Musical career
[edit]Allen's musical style incorporates traditional acoustic, electric, and resonator guitars, alongside the blues banjo. In 2023, Allen won his first regional title at the Blues Society of Western Pennsylvania (BSWPA) Blues Challenge in the Solo/Duo category.[1] This victory earned him a spot to compete internationally at the 40th International Blues Challenge (IBC) in Memphis, Tennessee, in January 2024.[2]
In late 2025, Allen won the BSWPA Blues Challenge in the Solo/Duo category for a second time. This win advanced him to represent Western Pennsylvania again at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis in January 2026. Around the same time, Allen released his studio album, titled Blues Music, featuring entirely original tracks.[2]
