Aquarius IV
[edit source]Aquarius IV is a satelite of the Milky Way discovered in August 2026 by the Vera Rubin with about ~8 simga confidence in the g,r search and 7.6 in the g,i search.[1]. The same study or the g,i search present's the discovery of other ultra-faint galaxies like Sagittarius II, Aquarius II, Aquarius III and Virgo III. The identification of an exces of faint, blue marginally resolved stars coincident with Aquarius IV after looking through old data from the Dark Energy Camera (DECam) and from the EDP2 footprint [2] It has a radius of 61.9 light years or 19pc and diameter of 123.8 or 38pc[1]. Aquarius IV orbits 109 kpc from the Milky Way or 355,340 light years and has an Absolute Magnitude of -1.9[1]. Aquarius IV has a maximum Ellipticity of 95% but has an average of below 0.61 and it's classification is still unknown and only future study are needed to learn more about the galaxy[1]. The galaxy's metal-poor stars indicate an age of about 13 billion years old[1] which about as old as the Milky Way and the Universe itself.
