Aisha Hunt (also known as Aisha Kelley Hunt and Aisha J. Hunt) is an American attorney whose practice focuses on investment funds, exchange-traded funds (ETFs), mutual funds, and registered-fund tokenization. She is the founder and principal of Kelley Hunt, PLLC, a Denver, Colorado-based law firm.[1] Hunt has been cited in media coverage concerning ETF share-class structures and efforts to apply blockchain-based recordkeeping to registered fund shares.[2][3][4]

Education and career

[edit]

Hunt received a Bachelor of Science degree from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley and a Juris Doctor degree from Stanford Law School.[1]

Before founding Kelley Hunt, PLLC, Hunt held legal roles at Dechert LLP, ALPS, Vident Financial, Wells Fargo, and Dodge & Cox.[1] Her work has involved registered investment companies, including exchange-traded funds and mutual funds.[1]

Hunt founded Kelley Hunt, PLLC in September 2021.[1] ETF Express reported that the firm was formed to advise asset managers on ETFs, mutual funds, interval funds, and other investment products.[1]

ETF and registered-fund tokenization work

[edit]

On January 21, 2026, F/m Investments LLC and The RBB Fund, Inc. filed an exemptive application with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on behalf of the F/m US Treasury 3 Month Bill ETF (ticker: TBIL).[5] The application sought relief to permit certain ETF shares to be recorded and transferred using a permissioned blockchain-based recordkeeping system while maintaining the fund's existing registered-fund structure under the Investment Company Act of 1940.[5]

Reuters reported that the filing was part of broader efforts by asset managers and exchanges to bring tokenization into traditional securities markets.[2] The Daily Upside described the filing as part of the developing market for tokenized ETF infrastructure and quoted Hunt on the relationship between tokenized ETF shares and dual share-class structures.[4] Hunt was listed as counsel of record in the SEC filing.[5]

ETF and mutual fund share-class work

[edit]

On February 12, 2026, F/m Investments announced that its TBIL U.S. Treasury 3-Month Bill strategy had launched as both an ETF share class and a mutual fund share class within a single fund.[3][6] Bloomberg reported that F/m became the first issuer to operationalize the dual share-class structure after Vanguard Group's patent on the model expired.[3]

The structure allows investors to access the same portfolio through either an ETF share class or a mutual fund share class, including through 401(k) and other retirement-plan distribution channels.[3] Hunt served as regulatory counsel to F/m Investments for the launch.[6]

Public commentary and speaking

[edit]

Hunt has been cited as a source in media coverage by Reuters, Bloomberg, The Daily Upside, and ETF Express in connection with 2026 ETF tokenization and ETF/mutual fund share-class developments.[2][3][4][1]

She spoke at ETHDenver 2026 on regulated ETF and real-world asset products.[7] She also participated as a speaker at the Exchange ETF Conference 2026 in a session titled "ETF/MF Share Classes & Tokenization: Key Industry Developments."[8]
