AGENTS.inc (legally AGENTS HQ GmbH) is a German software company based in Berlin that develops artificial intelligence agents for business applications. The company's software is used for tasks such as data analysis, automated content generation, and customer interaction management.[1]
History
[edit]The company originated as a spin-off from the Fraunhofer Institute.[2] In 2016, researchers Sebastian Denef and Tatjana Samsonowa-Denef acquired Fraunhofer's shares in the company.[1] That same year, the company won a startup challenge organized by SAP and Capgemini.[3]
Initially operating under the name OWN.space at the Charlottenburger Innovations-Centrum (CHIC) in Berlin, the company developed autonomous software agents for information processing and corporate research.[4] In 2017, the company received a €250,000 investment after winning the IPRIZE competition held by the innogy Innovation Hub.[2] Early users of its prototype applications included Springer Nature, the Bavarian Police, the Leibniz Association, and the Schaeffler Group.[4]
Under the AGENTS.inc brand, the company developed an AI agent for the pharmaceutical company Bayer to autonomously search the internet and compile data on potential suppliers.[1]
In 2021, the company won a startup challenge organized by the Brazilian energy corporation Petrobras.[5] In 2026, the company's executive management was part of an economic delegation from Berlin at the Web Summit in Rio de Janeiro, led by Senator Franziska Giffey.[6]
Operations
[edit]The company develops a software platform called AGENTS HQ, which utilizes large language models (LLMs) to process business data and text. The platform includes algorithmic filtering mechanisms designed to verify information and prevent AI hallucinations prior to generating outputs.[1]
The software has been deployed by corporate clients for data analysis, market research, and administrative functions.[7] For Petrobras, the platform was used to create a market intelligence dashboard that uses AI agents to monitor media mentions and government documents for sentiment analysis.[6][1] In the retail industry, its systems are used to automate structural layout generation for promotional brochures.[6][7]
In 2026, the company won a competition for market intelligence applications hosted by transmission system operator Amprion at the E-world Prototype Club.[8] The analyst firm Everest Group included the company in its 2024 Innovation Watch and 2026 Agentic AI PEAK Matrix industry reports.[9][1]
