25 Park Row (also known as 23 Park Row) is a mixed-use skyscraper on Park Row in the Financial District, Manhattan, New York City. Designed by COOKFOX Architects, the building stands at 666 feet (202.9 m) tall with 48 stories. Construction started in 2017 and finished in 2020.[1] The building is the 85th tallest building in New York City.[citation needed] The building's architectural style is contemporary Art Deco.[2]
History
[edit]Initial renderings and work
[edit]L+M Development Partners filed plans for a 54-story, mixed-use tower at 23 Park Row in 2016.[3] Demolition for the old building - J&R Music and Computer World's former flagship at 23-32 Park Row[4] - progressed throughout mid-2016 - and the first renderings of the new tower, designed by COOKFOX, were seen around June.[5] More renderings came out by November that same year.[6]
In August 2017, a revised design for 25 Park Row was revealed, foundation work for the new building underway.[7]
Above-ground construction and completion
[edit]25 Park Row started to rise above street level at the end of 2017.[8] It surpassed the adjacent 15 Park Row shortly after July 2018 and topped out in December of the same year.[9][10]
The tower's curtain wall rose throughout 2019 and early 2020. Construction finished and the building opened, both in 2020.[11]
Amenities
[edit]25 Park Row contains 110 residences and includes fitness, dining and pool areas.[4][11]
