Dimitar Dimitrov Tonev (Bulgarian: Димитър Тонев; born 15 October 2001) is a Bulgarian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for First League club Botev Plovdiv.[1]
Club career
[edit]On 19 October 2019, four days after his 18th birthday, Tonev made his senior debut for Botev Plovdiv during their league defeat against Ludogorets, playing 77 minutes in a 1–0 loss.[2] On 13 January 2020, he signed his first professional contract with the club.[3] On 4 March 2020, Tonev scored his first competitive goal for Botev in a 1–0 Bulgarian Cup third round victory over Botev Galabovo.[4] In July 2023, he was loaned out to newly promoted Bulgarian team Krumovgrad.[5]
