"DNX" is a 2026 five-issue comic book crossover storyline published in the X-Men franchise of books by Marvel Comics. The event involves the mutant group 3K planning to unleash the mutagenic X-Virus as they end up contending with the X-Men and the Fantastic Four.

Publication history

On April 30, 2026, the DNX storyline was announced. The series involves the X-Men and the Fantastic Four working to prevent 3K from releasing the mutagenic X-Virus, which was first seen during the "Age of Revelation" storyline. The X-Virus was recreated in the present day by the Chairman of 3K (Beast).

Plot

Prologue

Magik allows Magneto to take refuge at Sukkat Shalome before returning to the Factory in Merle, Alaska. Beast reveals to the X-Men that the Chairman of 3K is his original self. Meeting with Magneto, the Chairman claims that the Resurrection-Linked Degeneration Sickness that Magneto is currently suffering from never existed. When Magneto refuses to comply with him, the Chairman attacks him and takes some of his biological material for use in the X-Virus, a mutagenic virus which the Chairman had been working on recreating. Magneto is left severely wounded. After discovering what happened to Magneto, Cyclops prepares to lead the X-Men in an ambush on 3K.

Main plot

Amidst an argument between 3K's members, the Chairman prepares to release the X-Virus from 3K's airship headquarters above Philadelphia. In the Baxter Building, Beast and Ben Liu meet with Mister Fantastic to tend to Magneto, whose condition is stable, yet critical. Mister Fantastic states that he will help save Magneto's life, but refuses to restore Magneto's powers, believing that Magneto is too dangerous to be left alone. In Philadelphia, Quentin Quire locates 3K's airship, allowing the X-Men to attack. After learning that the X-Men have breached the airship, the Chairman plans to release a series of bombs containing the X-Virus. However, he begins to worry that 3K's infighting will lead to their downfall.

Subplots

During the X-Men's attack on 3K, Quentin Quire and Cassandra Nova engage in a psychic battle. Quire impales Nova, who retaliates and begins drowning him in a pool of blood until Quire pulls her in. Quire and Nova begin sinking into the subconscious layer of the mindscape, which will gradually kill them both. Quire opens Nova's brain and reaches out to Jean Grey, who takes down Nova. Returning to consciousness, Quire is left with mental damage as a result of the fight. Cyclops contacts Quire, telling him that the battle with 3K has gone downhill, and tells him to initiate the Telepathic Evacuation Protocol.
