Chauhaan is an upcoming Hindi-language action thriller film directed by Neeraj Yadav and produced by Jyoti Deshpande, Aanand L. Rai and Himanshu Sharma.[1] Backed by Jio Studios in association with Colour Yellow Productions, the film stars Ajay Devgn in the titular role of a law enforcement officer.[2]
The film is scheduled for a theatrical release on 1 October 2027.[1]
Premise
[edit]Set against the backdrop of the 2018 Kashmir unrest in Pulwama, the film follows Chauhaan, a fierce law enforcement officer tasked with restoring order and managing high-stakes security operations during a turbulent period in the Valley.[2][3]
Production
[edit]The film marks the first collaboration between lead actor Ajay Devgn and producer Aanand L. Rai.[4] The official title announcement and teaser were unveiled on 25 June 2026, intentionally aligning with the birth anniversary of Devgn's late father, the veteran Bollywood action director Veeru Devgan.[5]
The initial teaser featured the song "Jumma Chumma De De" from the 1991 film Hum and concluded with a widely discussed dialogue: "Pathaanon se kehna, Chauhaan aa raha hai."[3][4]
Release
[edit]Chauhaan is slated to be released theatrically on 1 October 2027, ahead of the Gandhi Jayanti holiday weekend.[1]
