Camapterus is a genus of beetle of the family Scarabaeidae.[1] It is monotypic, being represented by the single species, Camapterus oweni, which is found in South Africa (Western Cape).[2] Its habitat consists of semi-arid mountainous areas.[3]
Description
[edit]Adults reach a length of about 19.8–20 mm (0.78–0.79 in). They are completely black, glabrous and without white tomentum. Both the males and females are brachypterous.[3]
Etymology
[edit]The species is dedicated to Colin R. Owen, who discovered the species.[3]
