COER University, formerly known as College of Engineering Roorkee (COER), was established in 1998 by Seth Roshan Lal Jain Trust. It is located in Roorkee on National Highway 58 (NH-58), approximately 180 km (110 mi) north of Delhi, the capital of India, and 7 km (4.3 mi) from Roorkee towards Haridwar. The campus spans 30.35 ha (75.0 acres). Formerly affiliated with Uttarakhand Technical University, the institution was granted university status under the COER University Act passed by the Government of Uttarakhand and is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC).[1]
Academics
[edit]COER University offers diploma, undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs through eleven constituent colleges:
- College of Smart Computing: Offers computing and IT programs including BCA and MCA, with specializations in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, and Cloud Technologies.
- College of Business Studies: Offers management and commerce programs including Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com), and Master of Business Administration (MBA).
- College of Engineering: Offers Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) and Master of Technology (M.Tech) degrees across core and emerging engineering branches.
- College of Smart Agriculture: Offers agricultural science education including the four-year B.Sc (Hons.) in Agriculture, covering modern agronomy and precision farming.
- College of Legal Studies: Offers legal education with integrated five-year undergraduate programs including BA LL.B and BBA LL.B, approved by the Bar Council of India (BCI).
- College of Media Studies: Offers degree programs in journalism, mass communication, digital media production, and broadcasting.
- College of Nursing: Offers nursing education programs including B.Sc Nursing and allied clinical training, approved by the Indian Nursing Council (INC).
- College of Paramedical Sciences: Offers specialized diagnostic and technical medical programs such as Medical Laboratory Technology (BMLT) and Medical Radio Imaging Technology (BMRIT).
- College of Pharmacy: Offers pharmaceutical sciences education including D.Pharm, B.Pharm, and M.Pharm, approved by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI).
- College of Health Sciences: Delivers programs focused on healthcare delivery, public health, and hospital management studies.
- College of Allied Sciences: Provides education and research training across applied biological sciences, biotechnology, and fundamental sciences.
