Blockworks is a U.S. based data and software company focused on crypto markets. It provides investor relations software, a data API, and a market research platform. The company is headquartered in New York City.[1][2][3]
History
[edit]Blockworks was founded in 2018 by Jason Yanowitz[4][5] and Michael Ippolito as an events company focused on institutional investment in blockchain.[6][7] The company later expanded into media, data, and advisory services.[8][9][10]
Funding
[edit]In May 2023, Blockworks announced a US$12 million Series A funding round led by 10T Holdings.[11][12] The funding was intended to support expansion of its research and events operations.[13]
Products and services
[edit]Blockworks Research launched in 2022 as a research unit focused on digital assets and blockchain protocols.[14]
Blockworks Research publishes reports, commentary, and governance analyses on cryptocurrency protocols and industry trends.[15] It launched the Token Transparency Framework, an open-source disclosure standard for crypto projects, and submitted it to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission for feedback.[16][17]
Events
[edit]Blockworks organizes the Digital Asset Summit (DAS), an annual conference on institutional crypto adoption. Speakers at DAS have included political figures, economists, and industry executives.[18][19]
Acquisitions
[edit]In 2024, Blockworks acquired The Breakdown podcast and The Drop NFT Media to expand its media offerings.[20][21]
In 2026, Blockworks acquired Messari, a cryptocurrency market information company, in a deal valued "over $10 million".[22]
