Career

[edit]

SecuriTeam and Beyond Security

[edit]

In 1999, Jenik was general manager of SecuriTeam. That year he was quoted by CNET about a security flaw in the e-mail authentication used by domain registrar Network Solutions, involving e-mail provider Critical Path.[5][6]

Beyond Security began operating in 1998 with the launch of an information security portal and was formally founded in 1999.[1] Jenik co-founded the company and served as its CEO. As of 2003, he was its largest shareholder.[7][1]

In 2003, Globes reported that Beyond Security had declined an acquisition offer from Symantec. Jenik did not disclose the amount of the offer and said the company had rejected other offers as well.[1] The company grew without outside investment.[1][4]

In May 2021, Beyond Security was acquired by HelpSystems,[8] which was later renamed Fortra.[9]

Investment activity

[edit]

In 2017, TechCrunch listed Jenik among the angel investors in a $1.2 million seed round for PromoRepublic, a social media marketing startup.[10]
