Ataenius versicolor is a species of beetle of the family Scarabaeidae.[1] It is found in the Dominican Republic and Hispaniola.[2][3]
Description
[edit]Adults reach a length of about 3.9–4.6 mm (0.15–0.18 in). They have an oblong-oval, shagreened, piceous black body, with the apical third of the elytra reddish to yellowish brown, and sometimes also with reddish lateral intervals.[3]
Life history
[edit]Specimens have been collected in arid thorn forests.[3]
