Amateurs II (قسم الهواة الثاني) is the fifth tier in the Moroccan football league system, positioned directly below Amateurs I (4th division) and above the various regional amateur leagues.[1] The league is governed and administered by the Ligue Nationale du Football Amateur (LNFA).[2]
Format
[edit source]The competition comprises clubs split geographically into four groups:[3]
- North East Group (مجموعة الشمال الشرقي)
- North West Group (مجموعة الشمال الغربي)
- South Group (مجموعة الجنوب)
- Sahara Group (مجموعة الصحراء)
Each group plays a double round-robin tournament consisting of home and away fixtures.
Promotion and Relegation
[edit source]- Promotion: The winners of each of the four groups earn direct promotion to Amateurs I (4th tier).[4]
- Relegation: The lowest-ranked clubs in each group are relegated to their respective Regional Leagues (6th tier).[4]
History
[edit source]Following major structural revisions by the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) in 2017–18, Amateurs II was established as the nationwide fifth tier in the Moroccan football pyramid, bridging national amateur football with regional associations.[5]
