Stade Ahmed Choukri (Arabic: ملعب أحمد شكري), also known as Complexe Sportif Ahmed Choukri, is a football stadium located in Zemamra, Sidi Bennour Province, Morocco. Named after Moroccan independence martyr Ahmed Choukri, It serves as the home venue for RCA Zemamra, who compete in the Botola Pro, the top tier of Moroccan professional football.
History
[edit]Originally known as the Stade Municipal de Zemamra, the venue underwent extensive renovations following RCA Zemamra's historic promotion to the Botola Pro 1 in 2019.[1] To comply with safety and facility specifications prescribed by the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), the complex was updated with modern player dressing rooms, security fencing, and lighting towers to enable nighttime television broadcasts.[2]
In late 2024, work commenced to convert the stadium pitch from synthetic turf to natural grass.[3] During the pitch replacement period, RCA Zemamra temporarily staged home fixtures at Stade Père Jégo in Casablanca.[4]
Facilities
[edit]The stadium has a seating capacity of approximately 2,500 spectators.[5] Located on Avenue Prince Sidi Mohamed in central Zemamra, it serves as the primary regional sporting complex in the Doukkala area.
