LIM domain-containing protein ajuba (or ajuba for short) is a protein that in humans is encoded by the AJUBA gene (previously JUB).[5][6]

Function

[edit]

Ajuba contributes to cell fate determination and regulates cell proliferation and differentiation. It plays an important role in the regulation of the kinase activity of AURKA/Aurora-A for mitotic commitment.

Interactions

[edit]

Ajuba has been shown to interact with Stratifin[7] and SLC1A2.[8]

Name

[edit]

The protein was first discovered in mice, and named "ajuba" after the Urdu word for "curiosity".[9]
