On November 3, 1970, Alaska held a ballot initiative in the form of a legislatively-referred constitutional amendment on whether or not to lower the voting age from 19 years old to 18 years old.[1] The amendment was one of many that year about lowering the voting age.[2] This amendment was approved in a vote of 36,590 to 31,216.[3]
