| Welcome—request protection of a page, file, or template here. | ||
|---|---|---|
|
Before requesting, read the protection policy. Full protection is used to stop edit warring between multiple users or to prevent vandalism to high-risk templates; semi-protection and pending changes are usually used to prevent IP and new user vandalism (see the rough guide to semi-protection); and move protection is used to stop pagemove revert wars. Extended confirmed protection is used where semi-protection has proved insufficient (see the rough guide to extended confirmed protection). After a page has been protected, it is listed in the page history and logs with a short rationale, and the article is listed on Special:ProtectedPages. In the case of full protection due to edit warring, admins should not revert to specific versions of the page, except to remove obvious vandalism.
Request addition of protection to a page, or increasing the current protection level
Request removal of protection from a page, or reducing the current protection level
Request a specific edit be made to a protected page
Request the non-urgent protection of multiple pages that do not require immediate administrator attention

Reason: Recurring and persistent sockpuppetry by WP:YAYSMAY15 sock. This is probably the 5th time this has to be raised this year and it would be better if long term protection be granted. Borgenland (talk) 09:42, 28 July 2026 (UTC)

Reason: High IP level of vandalism, claiming its return of the defunct late-night newscast on ABS-CBN, 6 years after the shutdown. The infobox got ruined but I already manually revert them to this[[3]] edit. BeemoKincaid (talk) 10:26, 28 July 2026 (UTC)

Semi-protection: Persistent vandalism. ~WikiOriginal-9~ (talk) 17:27, 28 July 2026 (UTC)
Semi-protection: Persistent sockpuppetry from a large UPE/sockfarm just blocked at WP:Sockpuppet investigations/NC2020. See last 100 edits for how persistent this has been. These 20+ accounts were primarily low edit-count (often sub-10 total edits) SPAs, examples [4][5][6][7] etc., making longer-term semi-protection a useful option here. NicheSports (talk) 17:45, 28 July 2026 (UTC)
Reason: Persistent disruptive editing. This article was semi-protected following a request nearly two months ago. After the protection expired, TAs continued to add "Brazilian" to the lead sentence. Requesting semi-protection. Thanks in advance, Thedarkknightli (talk) 21:01, 28 July 2026 (UTC)

Semi-protection: Persistent sockpuppetry – LTA target. –Skywatcher68 (talk) 13:28, 29 July 2026 (UTC)
Reason: Frequent TA vandalism on BLP ~ crtbob (talk • contribs • talk) 15:54, 29 July 2026 (UTC)
Reason: Numerous recent disruptive edits by temporary users, including adding unsourced genres, [8][9][10][11] deviating from the article's established citation style,[12][13] and citing unreliable sources,[14] citation overkill,[15] or not citing sources at all.[16][17][18][19] Other violations include: [20] (WP:NOR, WP:V, WP:NPOV), and [21] (Trivial content).
These disruptive edits have posed problems for skilled editors like myself who are trying to expand the article, resulting in excessive time spent on reverts and corrections. The subject of the article is an album which has recently been released, and therefore consistently needs to be updated with newly sourced information. Because of the problems identified here, it is making it unnecessarily difficult to add correctly sourced and verifiable information while having to contend with the consistent disruptive editing from temporary users. Temporary semi-protection: Persistent disruptive editing – An editor, under multiple IP numbers and SPAs has been conducting a slow-burn edit-war to remove a properly sourced entry from this list. If you review the history it has been going on since April 9th (the edit is easy to track through the edit history because it always results in a 1,279 bytes deduction). Suggest semi-protection for a couple of months and see if that breaks the cycle. Betty Logan (talk) 20:32, 29 July 2026 (UTC)

Current requests for reduction in protection level
Reason: Like my last request, this is no longer needed as this was mostly used to prevent LTAs to moving the page to Grawp-like titles (e.g. H..A..G..G..E..R..?). This is how Grawp spells Hagrid's name in the Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix film from 2007. Because JarlaxleArtemis is an LTA that is no longer active, I recommend and suggest removing the protection or even a step further to removing the move protection of this page (extended confirmed would be okay for the Hagrid request). — SimpleObjects-9ei 🏖️/☀️/🥵 (see talk) 21:39, 27 July 2026 (UTC)

Reason: Reset pending protection: Low reject rate edits by new or TA users with the last rejected edit being on 26 July 2025. Being the only rejected pending edit of that year, the page doesn't seem to be attracting controversial BLP edits in the long-term.~2026-41989-38 (talk) 20:29, 29 July 2026 (UTC)
Not unprotected. Given that there have been only two anonymous/TA edits in the past year, the burden is minimal, and the rejection rate is 50%. ~Anachronist (who / me) (talk) 15:19, 30 July 2026 (UTC)
- anachronist,
Indefinite PC protection should be used only in cases of severe long-term disruption.
and a time limited protection can only be imposed when disruption issevere but temporary
. This doesn't explain why the seasons between 14 and 25 were never PCed (either temporarily or indefinitely). And given the fact that this 2009 season isn't receiving any media coverage, pending-protection is moot by now going forward.~2026-42323-17 (talk) 16:20, 30 July 2026 (UTC)- Yet the rejection rate is still 50%, which is unusually high for
this 2009 season
. —Jéské Couriano v^_^v Look out it's Jimothy! 16:31, 30 July 2026 (UTC)- But 0% of the past year's edits were from a date-changing vandal, which was the reason why this was protected in the first place.~2026-42323-17 (talk) 16:46, 30 July 2026 (UTC)

Unprotection: 15 years of protection with little vandalism or disruption per this request. Thepharoah17 (talk) 03:29, 30 July 2026 (UTC)
Pending-changes protected for now. You do realize that "little vandalism" is an invalid argument for unprotection? That just means protection is working. The protecting administrator is still around, but hasn't edited in 3 months, so I downgraded it to PCP. ~Anachronist (who / me) (talk) 15:12, 30 July 2026 (UTC)

you guys dont add the fact that 80% of infrastructure is destroyed in gaza and only about 3% of the population is death and that includes fighters so how are they targetting civillians exactly AverageArticle (talk) 06:46, 30 July 2026 (UTC)
- Have a read through WP:EDITXY to see how to write an edit request that is likely to be accepted and processed. Wikipedia isn't therapy. It's not here to help people cope with the savagery of the violence carried out by Israelis and Palestinians against children, mothers, fathers, brothers and sisters etc. using statistical abstractions like 'only about...'. Editors sample and summarize reliably sourced content, so if you think something notable should be added, removed or amended, you should provide one or more reliable sources to support the proposed change, and extended confirmed editors will consider it. Sean.hoyland (talk) 07:53, 30 July 2026 (UTC)
Not done Ordinarily I would simply revert this off as an unactionable rant by a less-established user that doesn't propose any edits in a contentious topic where 500/30 is in effect. I will instead use this opportunity to point out that the Arab-Israeli conflict is a topic area that (even without ECR) suffers when editors, especially newer ones who have no idea just what the actual fuck they are getting into, do not check their emotions and biases at the door - more so than even the other three intractible ethnopolitical hellholes. Any edit request that is even the slightest bit aggressive or takes an apologist tone (doesn't matter which side) is going to be rejected out of hand. —Jéské Couriano v^_^v Look out it's Jimothy! 15:05, 30 July 2026 (UTC)
