Move
[edit]This page should be moved to Welsh Romani language. No other Romani language page uses a dash. -- Al™ 05:00, 21 September 2010 (UTC)

Uncited material and use of Kā̊lē over Kale
[edit]Boldly, but reluctantly, reverted the wide addition of uncited material added to this article recently as of this version. Happy for it to be re-added but with sources.
In terms of the name of the people, better we are consistent and neutral by merely using the WP:COMMONNAME as used by its title Kale (Welsh Roma) rather than Kā̊lē which was added here a few weeks ago. Of course if a move discussion there wants to use Kā̊lē with proof, happy for that to then apply to other articles. The use of "proper ethnonym" seems like a WP:RGW argument, we use just what most sources use, not only specific ones.
Pinging @RomaniResearcher, @Alexeji, @Opala300. DankJae 18:03, 9 October 2025 (UTC)
- I appreciate you doing this. I haven't gotten around to reporting the issues surrounding the Romani pages to WP:ANI yet due to being busy IRL. Albeit bold, I support this extensive revision, because it would be difficult to properly clean up the page with as much content as was added before. There are still a lot of pages that need to be cleaned up, but this is a start.
- On the topic of the term Kā̊lē it is evident that it's taken from an outdated source (1926, according to this edit summary) that doesn't reflect the current orthography, so I don't expect any support for that move and would oppose it myself. Alexeji (talk) 20:19, 9 October 2025 (UTC)
- @Alexeji What source would you use? RomaniResearcher (talk) 08:00, 10 October 2025 (UTC)
- The sources were do be added this week. I've also been very busy IRL hence my absence. RomaniResearcher (talk) 08:02, 10 October 2025 (UTC)
- WP:BURDEN, if you add the content it is your responsibility to add citations. I gave some time with the tags. Once again, happy for you to re-add it with citations. DankJae 19:57, 10 October 2025 (UTC)
