Coal industry?

Pickering is described as having worked in the coal industry in Victoria. But there is no coal industry in Victoria. Almost all coal mining is part of the power industry where the shitty brown coal in the Latrobe Valley is dug up to be used by the companies that make electricity. The Age article says “ The 43-year-old single father has said in interviews he lost his job at a BHP coal mine in central Queensland during the pandemic after the mining giant mandated COVID-19 vaccines for employees.” Ponyshine (talk) 03:03, 5 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
