Word for ice: als or ais?

Realizing that Sonsorol is in the tropics and it seems very unlikely there is any natural ice there, it occurs to me that any Sonsorolese word for ice must be a loan. Both German and English have a word for ice whose pronunciation may be spelled <ais>. Therefore I wonder whether and doubt that “als” is its word for ice.Redav (talk) 16:44, 23 September 2025 (UTC)Reply
