Position of Ixcatec within Popolocan

The position of Ixcatec within Popolocan requires further investigation. Hamp's (1958, 1960) stemma of relations for Popolocan places Ixcatec in an intermediary position between Chocholtec and Popoloca on one hand and Mazatec on the other. For this reason I have erased the assertion that it is most closely related to Chocholtec.Mwswanton 06:19, 25 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
