Treatment of Prime Minister section

Currently, this section is arranged chronologically, but then subheadered by policy area, defying logical reweighting of issues. I propose converting it to a wholly chronological format, for internal coherence, and also to mirror similar articles (see John Howard). Any thoughts? Riposte97 (talk) 08:09, 27 May 2026 (UTC)

I should clarify that I intend for the time being only to reorganise the domestic affairs sections. It's not clear to me that these should be folded together with foreign affairs, and the foreign affairs sections are in any case far higher quality. Riposte97 (talk) 06:53, 1 June 2026 (UTC)

I have now created something of a Frankenstein's monster, but it is a chronological monster. Substantial work is still required to make the sections more readable, and also to take a 'bird's eye' view of those developments that are truly due for the article. I'm sure more needs to be cut, and many things that are not yet in the article (or which were lost in my edits today) will need to be added. Still, it's a start. You've gotten the article down to 8,249 of readable prose. That is much better. Although, I do agree with you that further trimming/summarising may be good, particularly taking into account that the previous GA reviewer called out some sections as being too short (see Talk:Anthony Albanese/GA1). Infobox image

I propose switching the current infobox image with the Prime Minister's official parliamentary portrait. This change complies with MOS:IMAGE on neutrality, both files are official government works released under the CC-BY 4.0 license. The alternative image is also clearly higher in quality because it was shot by the official professional parliamentary photographer.

The difference is clear between the two photographs, the alternative was shot in a professional studio with professional studio lighting whereas the current desk photo relies on the office lighting and the bright natural light which causes the awkward shadows on his face. The alternative image has a neutral gradient background with Albanese as the sole subject, while the current image is cluttered and distracting with visible picture frames, a lamp, a plant, and a window showing the outdoor environment. It has too many unnecessary visual distractions for the primary infobox image of a biographical article. Wikiuser4999 (talk) 11:08, 11 August 2026 (UTC)
