Gabriele Calvani (born 12 January 2004) is an Italian professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for Serie A club Frosinone, on loan from Genoa.
Club career
[edit]Calvani is a product of the youth academies of the Italian clubs Città di Ciampino, Nuova Tor Tre Teste and Urbetevere before joining Frosinone's youth academy in 2019.[1] The following year he moved to Genoa's academy, where he spent three seasons and captained the club's Primavera side, receiving his first call-up to Genoa's first-team squad in October 2022.[2] On 22 July 2023, he joined Serie C club Pontedera on a season-long loan where he made his professional debut.[3] On 9 August 2024, he joined Brescia on loan in the Serie B for a season.[4] He followed that up with a loan to Frosinone in Serie B for 2025–26 starting 11 July 2025.[5] Frosinone earned promotion to Serie A for the 2026–27 season, and on 8 July 2026 extended his loan with Frosinone for another season.[6]
International career
[edit]Calvani received his first call-up to the Italys in November 2025 for a set of 2027 UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualification matches.[7] >
Personal life
[edit]Calvani's younger brother, Simone Calvani, is a goalkeeper who also came through Genoa's academy; the pair were on loan together at Frosinoneduring the 2025–26 season.[8]
