Club Mouloudia Dakhla (نادي مولودية الدخلة), commonly known as CM Dakhla, is a Moroccan association football club based in the coastal city of Dakhla in the region of Dakhla-Oued Ed-Dahab.[1] Founded in 1987, the club competes in the Amateurs II, the fifth tier of the Moroccan football league system.[2]
History

[edit source]CM Dakhla was established in 1987 to promote sports and youth development in the southern coastal city of Dakhla.[3] Playing in blue and yellow colors, the team spent three decades competing in the regional leagues governed by the Sahara Football League before rising through the national amateur hierarchy organized by the Ligue Nationale du Football Amateur (LNFA).
Promotion to Amateur National and Logistical Landmark (2018–2021)
[edit source]Following a successful campaign in Amateurs I during the 2017–18 season, CM Dakhla earned promotion to the third-tier Amateur National.
Given Dakhla's geographic location in the far south of Morocco, the club became renowned across domestic football for its extensive travel demands. Hosting or visiting clubs involved round trips exceeding 3,000 kilometers (1,860 miles) for away matches against northern opponents in cities like Oujda, Tangier, and Nador.[4]
High-Profile Throne Cup Ties
[edit source]CM Dakhla gained national media prominence through its runs in the Moroccan Throne Cup:
- 2019–20: CM Dakhla advanced to the Round of 32, hosting top-flight Botola side Chabab Mohammédia at the Stade Municipal in Dakhla on 30 December 2020, falling 1–0 in a tight contest.[5]
- 2020–21: Reached the Round of 16 against 13-time Moroccan champions AS FAR, travelling to Rabat for the fixture at Stade Moulay Abdellah.[6]
Stadium
[edit source]The club plays its home matches at the Stade Municipal de Dakhla (الملعب البلدي بالداخلة), situated in central Dakhla.[7] The stadium features a synthetic turf surface and has a seating capacity of approximately 1,000 spectators.
