As students from Israel have told me, the movement is called Shoymer Hatzoures in colloquial Hebrew. I would like to put this in the article but I'm not sure whether my transliteration is correct. Can anybody help?--Tufelix 13:12, 18 March 2006 (UTC)

I'm a current chanich (member) of 'Hashy' Australia. I would love to continue to add to this page as i think it could be a lot more informative. To answer Tufelix's question, Hashomer Hatzair is the only way to pronounce the name of the movement. I don't know where you got this other transliteration from. needs work! A lot of work!

full of jargon and inconsistent transliterations. I speak Hebrew so I know what is being referred to, but why should English speakers have to wade through all of these (inconsistently presented) terms, and a list of one's years members in one country? Hashomer Hatzair and Habonim Dror

Since both Hashomer Hatzair and Habonim Dror still exist as separate movements despite the UKM-Kibbutz Artzi merger happening over 20 years ago perhaps "the likelihood of a merger between Hashomer Hatzair and UKM's youth movement, Habonim Dror, has increased" in the last paragraph of Section #3 Present should be modified. Add US history of Hashomer Hatzair in the 1960s and 1970s

A couple dozen US high school students were members of Hashomer Hatzair in the 1960s and 1970s in Boston, New York and Philadelphia in the period 1969 to 1973. I was one of them.

We met weekly to discuss Israel, socialist - zionist ideas and have fun; we attended summer camp at Camp Shomria (Camp Shomria) in Liberty New York in 1971 and 1972; and we spent a summer I don't recall) in Israel at the Gat and Gal On kibbutzim. Hi! I am currently am employee of Habonim Dror North America, and the part about the two movement likely merging is not accurate, or at least not at this time. We also do not share an office in New York. We have similar values and are both blue shirt movements who collaborate at times and can be valuable partners to one another.
