Edomites are Arabs or an Arabized people. This is not mentioned anywhere in the Wikipedia article, which relies heavily on biblical sources and narratives. I have added a few historical facts on the first extra biblical mention of Idumeans by Diodorus and the outcome of the Qedarite alliance with Egypt against Persian impacting the geographical scope of Idumea as a much smaller province. This source has a wealth of archaeological information that presents the ostraca already mentioned in this article in a more comprehensive light. I recall that earlier versions of this article mentioned Arab origins. Noticing that this is no longer present, I reviewed the edit history and found that @User:Arp had altered the relevant text () without adding or modifying the cited sources. As the existing sources appear to support the previous wording, I have reverted the change.
The edit appears to violate WP:NOORIGINALRESEARCH, as it introduces a change not supported by the cited references, and is therefore disruptive to the article's accuracy and verifiability.
