| Welcome—request protection of a page, file, or template here. | ||
|---|---|---|
|
Before requesting, read the protection policy. Full protection is used to stop edit warring between multiple users or to prevent vandalism to high-risk templates; semi-protection and pending changes are usually used to prevent IP and new user vandalism (see the rough guide to semi-protection); and move protection is used to stop pagemove revert wars. Extended confirmed protection is used where semi-protection has proved insufficient (see the rough guide to extended confirmed protection). After a page has been protected, it is listed in the page history and logs with a short rationale, and the article is listed on Special:ProtectedPages. In the case of full protection due to edit warring, admins should not revert to specific versions of the page, except to remove obvious vandalism.
Request addition of protection to a page, or increasing the current protection level
Request removal of protection from a page, or reducing the current protection level
Request a specific edit be made to a protected page
Request the non-urgent protection of multiple pages that do not require immediate administrator attention

Semi-protection: Persistent disruptive editing. 海盐沙冰 / aka irisChronomia / Talk 09:54, 7 August 2026 (UTC)

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Perstistent vandalism from several newly created accounts. . - Otherwise (Antibacklog Aktion!) (talk?) 13:19, 7 August 2026 (UTC)
Semi-protected indefinitely., extremely long history of vandalism that seems likely to continue indefinitely, as a lot of it is evidently done by young students of the district. signed, Rosguill talk 20:33, 7 August 2026 (UTC)
Reason: Vandalism from IPs and random, newly-made accounts on the name of the communion and other information. Consistent for months. TheLionHasSeen (talk) 13:33, 7 August 2026 (UTC)
Declined – Not enough recent disruptive activity to justify protection. Noting that over the past two months, while there's been some disruption, the TAs involve do not appear suggestive of sock- or meatpuppetry at this time. signed, Rosguill talk 20:39, 7 August 2026 (UTC)

- Itsekiri people (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs)
- Kingdom of Warri (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs)
- Yorubaland (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs)
- Yoruba people (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs)
Reason: Ongoing edit-warring and repeated removal/restoration of disputed material across these four related articles while talk-page discussions and an RfC are ongoing. The recent back-and-forth editing has involved Itsekiriwriting (talk · contribs) and me. An uninvolved administrator, 331dot (talk · contribs), directed me to request page protection at here. I am requesting temporary semi-protection, if appropriate, to allow the dispute-resolution process to continue without further reverts. Agents47 (talk) 15:24, 7 August 2026 (UTC)
- I would just note for the record that I directed them here, but did not advise them to undertake any particular course of action. 331dot (talk) 15:44, 7 August 2026 (UTC)
- Yes sorry. Agents47 (talk) 17:09, 7 August 2026 (UTC)
- I have made the corrections. I just want to note that there may be further edits and reverts on Kingdom of Warri, which is another related page affected by the same dispute. Given the large-scale changes already taking place on Itsekiri people and the ongoing discussions on the other pages, I am concerned that the same cycle may continue here. I understand that you previously said no further admin action was needed, but I would appreciate it if you could keep an eye on the edits across these pages. If I also cross the line or contribute to the edit-warring, I accept that I should be held accountable as well. Agents47 (talk) 17:50, 7 August 2026 (UTC)
- Itsekiri people already semi-protected, not enough activity to justify increasing protected level.
- Kingdom of Warri
Declined – Not enough recent disruptive activity to justify protection. - Yorubaland

Declined Per above. Daniel Case (talk) 21:13, 7 August 2026 (UTC)
Temporary extended confirmed protection: Persistent sockpuppetry – Article has been consistently targeted by sockpuppets; see this SPI. Previously protected due to vandalism/socking. Since protection expired in June, a series of temp accounts are once again repeatedly making unsourced edits or deletions, frequently reverted. Several of them have been blocked as socks, but new accounts come and go quickly and the overall activity is suspicious and fits the same pattern, with no indication of stopping. I think a longer semi-protection would be beneficial at this point, if that sounds reasonable. R Prazeres (talk) 21:06, 7 August 2026 (UTC)
Extended confirmed protected for a period of 1 year, after which the page will revert to its previous protection level if it is still in effect, or become unprotected otherwise. signed, Rosguill talk 21:14, 7 August 2026 (UTC)

IP address(es) blocked blocked by Malcolmxl5. on the /64, which I've expanded to the /48 to cover all the relevant edits. The Bushranger One ping only 01:51, 8 August 2026 (UTC)
Reason: Repeated temporary-account edits are adding unsourced elimination results for episodes whose elimination has not yet aired. This occurred last week, when Aaron Potts's elimination was added before the August 6 broadcast revealed it, and temporary accounts are again adding the unresolved Episode 5 result before next week's episode. Requesting temporary semi-protection or pending-changes protection to prevent continued addition of unaired, unverifiable results. Example: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Project_Runway_season_22&diff=prev&oldid=1368224200 ~2026-43604-12 (talk) 21:33, 7 August 2026 (UTC)
- Is the concern "unaired and unverifiable" or are these results in fact verifiable (through sources other than the actual episodes,s of course) and the concern spoilers? Because we do not remove information due to the latter. - The Bushranger One ping only 00:57, 8 August 2026 (UTC)
Reason: High level of temporary account vandalism and loads of poorly unsourced content. Ruby Fortnite (talk) 22:22, 7 August 2026 (UTC)
Reason: Temporary semi-protection due to persistent vandalism from several temporary user accounts who are changing the subject's birth date. Marchije•speak/peek 22:24, 7 August 2026 (UTC)
Reason: Article is on a non-binary individual, referred to with they/them pronouns. While not super frequent, there have been multiple instances since its creation of the article being vandalized to swap out their pronouns with "he/him" and remove mentions of their gender identity with no explanation. As such, I request that the page be semi-protected (preferably indefinitely) to prevent this vandalism in the future. λ NegativeMP1 23:25, 7 August 2026 (UTC)
Pending-changes protected indefinitely. The rate of disruption is not sufficient to justify semiprotection. This is, however, exactly what pending changes is for. The Bushranger One ping only 00:02, 8 August 2026 (UTC)

Declined – Pages are not protected preemptively. WP:CT/EE does not mandate any protection, and the small part of the article that falls under WP:CT/GG also has no mandated protection. The portion of this article that falls under WP:RUSUKR is small and will be noted using hidden notes; in the absence of active disruption there is no protection required here. The Bushranger One ping only 04:21, 8 August 2026 (UTC)
Temporary pending changes: BLP policy violations – Fairly slow-moving disruption from temporary accounts/new users. Article also falls under CTOPS/AP in addition to being a BLP. See Special:Diff/1354557537, Special:Diff/1355086035, and Special:Diff/1353105720, as well as today's disruption, for some examples of the disruption occurring over the last few months, which isn't confined to specific users, and thus blocking is not a solution to this problem. EggRoll97 (talk) 03:44, 8 August 2026 (UTC)
Semi-protected for a period of four days, after which the page will be automatically unprotected. Those other diffs could be evidence for PC, but they read to me as generic, run-of-the-mill vandalism/nonconstructiveness not requiring PC. The Bushranger One ping only 04:18, 8 August 2026 (UTC)
Current requests for reduction in protection level

Current requests for edits to a protected page
I request the following sentence be removed from the lead's 2nd paragraph:
"and subsequently annexing the Strait of Hormuz"
This sentence was recently added but is completely unsourced, not in the body, and POV pushing. Although Iran has claimed sovereignty over the strait, there are no sources claiming that it has actually successfully annexed it during the ongoing war or even attempted officially to do so. The linked page on sovereignty in the text which is a new page created by the same user also doesn't even support this wording of annexation. Current talks between Iran and Oman are about shared administration as well, not annexation. ~2026-43592-81 (talk) 07:20, 7 August 2026 (UTC)
