Zakir naik actually said this and that too repeatedly

[edit]

“If he [Osama Bin Laden] is fighting the enemies of Islam, I am for him…If he is terrorizing the terrorists, if he is terrorizing America the terrorist, the biggest terrorist, I am with him. Every Muslim should be a terrorist.” https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/1392/india-dr-zakir-naik

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eO5rFOGViY0 STARTS FROM 6:10 ... Here, he claims to be unsure about Osama Bin Laden being a terrorist or a saint.

Malaysia Can’t Decide if Zakir Naik Is a Preacher or a Terrorist

Nowhere in the damn article are these even mentioned. Maybe he’s changed his tune, but let’s not pretend he didn’t preach that garbage at one point in his life. That’s no secret. And given that WIKIPEDIA IS NOTHING BUT A CESSPOOL OF LEFTIST BIGOTRY WHERE ANYTHING EVEN REMOTELY CENSURIAL GETS SCRUBBED CLEAN, I’M NOT SURPRISED IN THE LEAST. 103.52.220.45 (talk) 17:26, 14 September 2025 (UTC)Reply

What act is being talked about here?

[edit]

To preface, this is a very sensitive issue and that being said, the relationship of public figures to such issues should be described with care and clarity. I have no issue with this being cited if it's done with care and clarity.

Under [views] >> [social issues] it says this:

Naik says the LGBT community are experiencing a mental illness caused by the use of pornography propagated by television. Naik says that in accordance with the Quran and sunnah, he recommends the death penalty for homosexuals that committed the act publicly.

There is no act described here, there's a description of a people who Naik is described as saying are experiencing a mental illness, but there's no mention of the action that such people would have committed to be penalized.

It seems to imply that this is describing the very experience of being in this community as being "the act" that should be penalized and if that is the case then such a position should be clarified, though such a thing is an overt category error to say the least. Being homosexual is not an act to be committed and thus cannot be "committed" publicly or in private.

If it is not the case that it is the experience of being in this community that is what is described as "the act", then whatever is being referenced should be mentioned.

There were two sources mentioned to support that claim about "the act" needing to be penalized. One was an article on India Today that had misinformation in its very first sentence about the subject being banned from Malaysia though it is well established that the subject lives in that country as a permanent resident (it's even mentioned in this Wikipedia article).

The second source has a paywall and the amount of information shown for free doesn't reference such claims, but I give the benefit of the doubt that they are present in the full article.

Both sources seem to be very sensationalist in nature, and they may as well contain correct information. But the ambiguity of the information that is coming from these sources violates [WP:NPOV] and [WP:BLP]. 182.253.176.226 (talk) 04:54, 12 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

add this section in lectures abd debates section: ===2025 Bangladesh Tour=== On 28–29 November 2025, the Bangladesh interim government granted permission to Spark Event Management to organize Zakir Naik's Bangladesh tour.[1] On 28 October 2025, in response to a question from journalists about Zakir Naik's arrival in Bangladesh on 28 November 2025, he said that he did not know that Zakir Naik would be coming to Bangladesh, he heard it for the first time from journalists, but he could only say that anyone who "creates trouble" will not be allowed to come to Bangladesh.[2] The Indian Ministry of External Affairs formally raised concerns about Naik's proposed visit to Bangladesh on October 30. A journalist asked Indian Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal at a press conference briefing, "Sir, there is news that Zakir Naik will be visiting Bangladesh next month. Can Bangladesh hand him over to the Indian government? Is there any plan to request that?"; in response, Randhir Jaiswal said, "He is a fugitive. He is being sought in India. So we hope that wherever he goes, the people there will take appropriate action against him and address our security concerns."[3][1] Bangladesh's Foreign Ministry has expressed its position on India's comments, and its spokesperson SM Mahbubul Alam said, "We have noted the statement made by the Indian Foreign Ministry spokesperson." Referring to ousted former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's asylum in India, Alam said, "No country, including India, should give shelter to any accused or fugitive from any other country."[4] Religious Affairs Advisor A F M Khalid Hossain told reporters in Dhaka yesterday that any visit by Naik would require the approval of both the Home and Foreign Ministries, after meeting representatives of both sides of the Tablighi Jamaat.[1] On November 3, 2025, a group of Dhaka University students submitted a memorandum to the Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) demanding that Zakir Naik be awarded an honorary 'doctorate degree'.[5] However, on November 4, the Ministry of Home Affairs said that for security reasons, the event may take place after the upcoming elections, not before.[6][7] Jahangir Alam was criticized for his decision to deny Zakir Naik entry into Bangladesh on October 5, 2025, citing a lack of manpower to ensure security in Dhaka, in line with the decision of the Home Ministry's Law and Order Core Committee, to visit the country.[8][9] In response to this decision, the Jagannath University (JUB) branch of the United People's (UP) Bangladesh strongly protested by forming a human chain.[10] A human chain was also formed at Chittagong University in protest.[11] In addition, the Bangladesh Salafi Association demanded the resignation of Home Affairs and Foreign Affairs Advisors Jahangir Alam and Towhid Hossain in protest of the same incident.[12]Spark Events owner Ali Raj said in a press briefing that even though permission was obtained from the Home and Foreign Ministries after seven rounds of meetings before all the arrangements were completed, with investments of crores of taka, there must have been some "pressure" behind the sudden cancellation of the event.[13][14][15] Protest march held at Noakhali University of Science and Technology in protest of November 6, 2025[16][17] On November 7, 2025, at a press conference in front of the National Museum in Shahbagh, Shams Uddin, member secretary of an organization called 'Swadhinata Suraksha Mancha' and former anti-discrimination student leader, alleged that the current government did not allow Zakir Naik to enter the country to please India. The leaders of the organization strongly condemned the incident and at the same time demanded that Zakir Naik be given honorary citizenship of Bangladesh and demanded a strong movement against it if this was not done.[18][19] ~2025-31978-51 (talk) 01:08, 8 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
