HTTP client versus SMTP client, HTTP mail frontend versus mail/SMTP server
[edit]Isn't the purpose to identify the HTTP client address connecting to the HTTP server frontend (which otherwise serves as a transparent proxy for mail)? The Received: lines already serve te purpose of logging who connects to the SMTP/mail server. Thus the introduction may be incorrect or misleading? X-TMN
[edit]Just to make mention, Hotmail appears to be using something labeled X-TMN as the originating IP address now. There's nothing labeled X-EIP in their headers any more. At least I don't see it. --168.215.131.150 (talk) 15:36, 31 January 2015 (UTC)
