Time to restore article

[edit]

Such articles as this are referring to the main event as "the most historically significant fight of the year" even "20 years from now" and it received mainstream coverage: "SportsCenter was Tweeting all night about the fight. They’ve never done that before. It was on the front page of CNN, Sports Illustrated.com". How on earth could this article be deleted? --24.112.187.219 (talk) 04:35, 25 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

We got it. =) Theepicwarrior (talk) 07:47, 10 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Protected edit request on 24 March 2016

[edit]

Hello, I was wondering if I may please edit UFC 157? It is a landmark event in the company's history, as it was the first ever women's fight in the UFC, headlined by Ronda Rousey and Liz Carmouche. "UFC 157" should have its own separate page instead of being a sub-article of "2013 in UFC." May I please edit "UFC 157?" Theepicwarrior (talk) 02:26, 24 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

Not done: According to the page's protection level you should be able to edit the page yourself. If you seem to be unable to, please reopen the request with further details. Terra 00:01, 25 March 2016 (UTC)Reply
The *redirect* page *is* protected. I made the same mistake looking at it just now. Rwessel (talk) 10:33, 12 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
@Theepicwarrior: if you want the protection removed you need to request that at requests for page protection. You will also need to show that any article you create addresses the problems that lead to it being deleted in the past (see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/UFC 157). I suggest you create a draft first and then ask for the page to be unprotected. Sarahj2107 (talk) 12:26, 12 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

Restore to mainspace

[edit]

Wikipedia:Deletion review/Log/2016 April 25#UFC 157 was closed as "Deletion endorsed, but a new draft may be submitted to WP:AFC. I get the impression that most would prefer that this be done by somebody else than the nominator, who is still new to Wikipedia's collaborative approach."

As a DRV participant and an AfC reviewer, I added information to this draft and consider it ready for mainspace after the DRV.

UFC 157 is a fully protected redirect. Would an admin unprotect UFC 157 and history merge it with Draft:UFC 157? Thanks, Cunard (talk) 07:30, 8 May 2016 (UTC)Reply
