[edit]I've updated the description of the music. Although Apple ][ music was not the best, it is hard to see how someone could confuse "Für Elise" with "Sugarplum Fairies". I've just booted up the game in an emulator and it is clearly "Für Elise". --Jonathan Badger July 30, 2006
I've added information on the name and inspiration from an interview with Goodman (referenced). I deleted the idea that it was inspired by a bar fight as Goodman didn't mention that in the interview, and the only evidence to support it on the Web seems to be this Wikipedia article. A few notes:
1. I'm pretty sure the music at the beginning of the game is Edvard Griegs' "In the Hall of the Mountain King". I played this game many times in the years after its release and have a clear memory of that song rendered APPLE ][-style.
2. It has a very cool save game feature: it doesn't actually save anything to a disk, but gives you a unique code which will get you back to the exact conditions and location. I guess you could say it saves the game by writing the data into your short-term memory (and you take it from there.)
