There is an interview with Black August he puts forward the best evidence he has to prove he was the original creator of the post.

Couple things

The webseries is noted as having 24 episodes in the lead, but this is not sourced and does not appear in the body.

@Greggorrr: I saw that you updated the number of views of the YouTube video, citing the YouTube page. When you update the views, you should also update the access date in that citation.

The last two single-sentence paragraphs in Reception don't belong there. These, along with the sentence about inspiring Severance, might be put in a new section like Legacy or Impact.

My inclination would be to separate the works "inspired by" the Backrooms from direct adaptations of the Backrooms as a setting, but this is trickier to pin down with an open source setting. (As opposed to an owned intellectual property which would have official licensed adaptations.)

Does The Poolrooms deserve its own section under Adaptations, or is it simply another level of The Backrooms to be mentioned with the parking garage and utility corridors?

I probably added that Poolrooms stuff at the wrong location! Glancing through some RS I could locate on Google, there appears to be some coverage of the levels and some consistency with some of them; perhaps the levels (as corny as they are) are worthy of their own section? ❧ LunaEatsTuna (talk), proudly editing since 2018 (and just editing since 2017) – posted at 21:08, 4 July 2026 (UTC)

@Reidgreg: @Greggorrr: @Vortex3427: I feel like the fact that levels do not exist in Kane Parsons' Backrooms lore in his web series and film should probably be mentioned somewhere on this page, and also at his own page, since I’ve been seeing a lot of people mistakenly thinking his lore has levels too due to it not being mentioned on either page. Like in the opening paragraphs, the sentences about levels and expanded settings are immediately followed by the first mention of Parsons, and it would indirectly imply his works have levels too, which they don't. ~2026-40355-08 (talk) 13:26, 18 July 2026 (UTC)

On a separate note also: shouldn’t the 4chan and SomethingAwful user Black August be mentioned on this page, given he was the initially anonymous user who created the Backrooms (which he called the Back)? Mention Backrooms Fandom in External Links

I looked at the external links page at the bottom of the article, and I noticed that the Backrooms Wikidot was given a link. Would it be viable to also include the Fandom as well, as it is a major part interpretations of the Backrooms (since it is mentioned being part of the two major wikis that explored lore for the Backrooms in the article)? Start Work on Legacy Section

After looking at further contributions that can be done to this article, it seems we have enough material to start a legacy section. The current parts that function in said section could include:

- Moving the mention of Severance to this new section (Appears irrelevant to the Growth & Fandom section)

- The two single sentence mentions in the "Reception" section pertaining to the Google Earth TikTok trend and rapper music video.

- Discussion on the use of the Backrooms in Vocaloid content (source mentioned in the 'sources to improve this article further' https://www.japantimes.co.jp/culture/2026/09/03/music/vocaloid-backrooms-liminal-horror/)

- Move "The #liminalspaces hashtag has amassed nearly 100 million views on TikTok." to this section?

- If any discussion on the legacy of the Backrooms is present on the PC Gamer Source or any that are currently being used in the article, then further expansion can be applied. Crafts97 (talk) 18:55, 21 September 2026 (UTC)
