Early Career

[edit]

The following is incorrect under the section Early Career. "In 1931, Beatty performed with Dunham’s company at "The First Negro Dance Recital in America," organized by Edna Guy." First, in 1931 it was Hemsley Winfield's dance company that gave the First Negro Dance Recital in America. Second, Edna Guy performed in the recital that was directed by Hemsley Winfield. Third, Dunham's company was not a part of the performance. Fourth, Beatty never performed in that recital or with Hemsley Winfield's dance company. See Neal, N. D. (2020, August). Hemsley Winfield: Pioneer of Modern Dance – A Biography, Publisher: Author. I hope this will be corrected. Dr. Nelson Neal (talk) 00:07, 24 September 2025 (UTC)Reply
