Hatay

[edit]

Why is it still mentioed if there is no claim? Also it's not Hatay province as whole, but like 3/4. There were few districts added to Hatay after its annexation. Beshogur (talk) 12:54, 3 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

It's still mentioned because the status of Hatay's relinquishment is unclear; So far, the government has implied that it doesn't claim Hatay via new governmental agency logos, but the government hasn't made a formal announcement declaring relinquishment. @NeoSyria: how many regime changes did Syria have since Turkey annexed Hatay? I don't think there is like any dispute or a claim right now. If it's unclear, it shouldn't be on the infobox. Misleading information. Beshogur (talk) 14:24, 26 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
@NeoSyria: you're literally edit warring over WP:OR. there's something there, as implied by the map is not a valid reason. Revert it and avoid further drama. Beshogur (talk) 12:06, 26 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
It is not "edit-warring", I haven't reverted twice within 24 hours, therefore, I won't be reverting it. However, if you revert after some time, I won't revert back again. NeoSyria\Freedoxm (talk · contribs) 18:54, 26 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
I mean it's still edit warring. It's literally original research. Isn't Golan heights de jure Syrian territory? Hatay is de jure Turkish territory and there is no indication that Syria still claims it. Beshogur (talk) 23:13, 26 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Supreme Constitutional Court

[edit]

Is it necessary to add this government template? I believe it should be included because countries such as Turkey and South Korea also include their Constitutional Courts in the government template. The Supreme Constitutional Court is the highest judicial body in Syria. I have already raised this issue on the discussion page in order to settle the matter. Speaker Title

[edit]

I see no rationale to put the entire, state-official title in the infobox; I believe that "Speaker" is all that should be there because in most articles, such as Iraq and the United States do not list the entire official name in the infobox. NeoSyria\Freedoxm (talk · contribs) 17:39, 20 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

@Caltine @HurricaneEdgar - feel free to discuss. NeoSyria\Freedoxm (talk · contribs) 17:41, 20 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
I think I have no problem with the current version. We don't need the longer title because readers already understand the context, and the wikilink allows them to see the full title. HurricaneEdgar 08:42, 21 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
I have seen instances where the full title of the speaker role is used on some articles (e.g. Hungary), so I'm mostly using those articles as a reference. Caltine (talk) 12:30, 21 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
