সুমাইয়া (রাঃ) প্রথম ৭ জনের মধ্যে একজন। তিনি একজন মহিলা এবং আরব অার্থ সামাজিক অবস্হানে নিম্নতম ছিলেন। নবী করিম সঃ একজন বিশ্বাসী আল আমিন নামে পরিচিত। তাঁহার কথা মিথ্যা নয়। ইহাই সুমাইয়া রাঃ এর বিশ্বাস। তাঁহার বিশ্বাস থেকে তিনি এক বিন্দু ও নড়েননি। তপ্ত রোধে বালির উপর বুকে পাথর দিয়ে শোয়াইয়া রাখা বা পানি ভরতি কুপে ডুবাইয়া রাখার পর ও আল্লাহ ও তাঁর রাসুলের অবিচল থেকে আবু জেহেলের খন্জরের আঘাতে তাঁর শাহাদাত বরণ হয়।
নবী মোহাম্মদ সঃ তাঁর ও তাঁর স্বামী ও সন্তানের জান্নাতবাসী হওয়া ও বেহেস্তে তাঁর সাথে তাদের স্বাক্ষাতের খবর তাঁর স্বামী ইয়াসির রাঃ কে সামনা সামনি নিজ মুখে দিয়েছেন।
বদরের যুদ্ধে আবু জেহেল কে হত্যা করার পর নবী করিম সঃ নিজ মুখে হযরত সমাইয়া রাঃ এর পুত্র আমর কে বলেন " Allah has killed your mother's killer' ।
